Rebecca Hurd

Rebecca Hurd is an actor, singer, and teaching artist based in Chicago. Her local credits include: Top Girls (Remy Bumppo Theatre), Portia in Something Rotten! (Marriott Theatre), Sophie in Mamma Mia! (Drury Lane Theatre), An Enemy of the People (Goodman Theatre), Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest (Writers Theatre), and Viola in ShortShakes! Twelfth Night (Chicago Shakespeare Theater). Regionally, she has worked with Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, the Guthrie Theater, two seasons with American Players Theatre, and three tours with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. TV credits include “Chicago PD” (NBC) and “NeXt” (FOX). As a teaching artist, she has had the privilege of working with young people in the schools for the last five years. She teaches Shakespeare and other acting workshops and is also a private acting coach for middle and high school students. She holds a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theatre.
