Troupe 2020 Skills Training Course

Service Description

In this fun, intensive 12-week training course, students will be studying voice, acting and dance. On Thursdays, we will build our collaborative teamwork skills and dive deep into character study and creation. We will use physical exploration to strengthen our bodies and voices through training warm-ups, movement and acting exercises. We will get our creative juices flowing while we write original short scenes and plays together. On Saturdays, we will rotate our troupe through dance and vocal training. For dance we will build on our basic popular music theatre dance terminology and train our brains to retain choreography quickly while having fun. We will learn different dance numbers from music theatre Broadway productions like Cats, Hairspray, Singin in the Rain, Matilda etc.... For our voices, we will learn challenging vocal warm-ups and techniques to help us continue to strengthen our instruments and build on our storytelling skills through song. We will learn a few popular Broadway songs together and have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a vocal coach to receive helpful feedback and important vocal tips. This exciting Troupe training course will give students essential and instructive tools/techniques that can be utilized to promote growth in the field of musical theatre. This class will take place twice a week starting on September 10, 2020 and ending December 17th, 2020. *The Zoom Link will be sent via email after registration. *No class on 9/19, 10/31, 11/26 or 11/28
